Welcome to Beara Italia. I'm Sarah, and this site is where I share what I've learned exploring Italy in a little Fiat Cinquecento: honest guides, personal recommendations and travel planning for anyone who wants to explore at their own pace, off the usual tourist trail.

These terms explain how the website works, what you're agreeing to when you use it, buy a guide, or book a planning session with me, and where to go if anything isn't clear. Please read them before you use the site or make a purchase. By using this website, you agree to these terms.

WHO I AM

Beara Italia is run by (me), Sarah Marshall, a sole trader, based in Wadebridge, Cornwall, England. You can contact me at hello@bearaitalia.com. 

In these terms, "I", "me" and "my" mean Beara Italia; "you" and "your" mean anyone using the website.

WHAT THESE TERMS COVER

These terms apply to the whole of bearaitalia.com: the blog, The Italy Collection digital guides shop, trip planning sessions, The Beara Essentials product recommendations, and any other services I offer on the site now or in future.

Where I offer organised trips, tours, or group travel in the future, those will have their own dedicated terms and conditions at the point of booking (see section Future trips, tours and group travel). Those sit alongside this general policy, not instead of it.

THE BLOG AND CONTENT ON THIS SITE

Everything on the blog reflects my own experiences, opinions, and personal recommendations from my travels in Italy. It isn't professional travel, legal, financial, immigration or medical advice, and it isn't a substitute for checking official, up-to-date sources.

I do my best to keep information accurate, including opening times, prices, entry requirements, customs allowances and driving rules, but these things change, sometimes quickly, and I can't guarantee everything is current by the time you read it. Please always check details like passport and visa requirements, customs rules, and local driving laws with the relevant official source before you travel.

Nothing on this site is professional advice tailored to your circumstances. Acting on anything you read here, including any recommendation, route, or contact, is up to you, and at your own risk.

THE ITALY COLLECTION - BUYING A DIGITAL GUIDE

Guides sold through The Italy Collection are digital PDF downloads, delivered immediately by download link and follow-up email after payment. There's no physical product shipped.

Prices are shown in GBP on each product page, and payment is taken securely through Stripe.

Because these are digital products delivered straight away, your right to a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 ends once you start downloading the guide. At checkout, you'll be asked to confirm you understand this and agree to download starting right away. If you haven't downloaded your guide yet, you can request a cancellation and refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing hello@bearaitalia.com.

The Guides are for your own personal use. Please don't share, resell, or republish them without asking first.

They are my personal recommendations from places I've been, stayed, eaten and driven through. I'm not a tour operator, and I can't check or guarantee that every place, business, or route mentioned is still open, available, bookable, or unchanged since I visited. Always double-check details like opening times, bookings, and accessibility before you travel.

TRIP PLANNING AND TRAVEL CONSULTANCY (THE CLARITY CALL AND SIMILAR SESSIONS)

I offer paid one-to-one planning sessions to help you put together your own trip to Italy: route ideas, places to visit, practical tips, and pointers for booking things yourself.

To be clear: I'm not a travel agent or tour operator, and none of your bookings go through me. I don't book flights, accommodation, car hire, or activities on your behalf, and I'm not party to any contract you make with those providers. What I do offer is guidance through the self-booking process: recommendations, official links, useful apps, and contacts, so you feel confident booking it all yourself. I'm here to help you plan it, not to book it for you.

You book and pay for sessions in advance through the website using Stripe.

Cancelling and rescheduling

Because this is a service bought online, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of booking under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, during which you can cancel for a full refund.

When you book your session, I'll ask you to confirm you're happy for work to begin (research, preparation, or the call itself) before the 14-day cooling-off period ends. If you cancel after that work has started, I'll refund you for any part of the service not yet delivered and charge only for the time already spent on your planning, rather than the full fee.

If you need to change the date, you can do so via your confirmation email; I just ask for 24 hours' notice. If it is less than this, please email me at hello@bearaitalia.com.

AFFILIATE LINKS AND ADVERTISING

Some links on this site, in blog posts, guides, on Beara Essentials, and elsewhere, are affiliate links. If you click through and book or buy something, I may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. Where I can, I'll mark these clearly, for example, with an "affiliate link" note near the link itself.

Beara Essentials is my page of travel products and recommendations, where many of these sit. I only link to products I'd genuinely recommend.

This site may also carry third-party advertising and sponsored links, for example through Google AdSense or Ezoic. These can use cookies to track referrals, and since they're served by advertisers rather than me, I can't vouch for where they lead once you click through.

OTHER LINKS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Not every link on this site is an affiliate one. Many of the apps, websites, and contacts mentioned in blog posts and guides are simply things I personally use and rate, with no commercial relationship behind them.

I only link to sites I think are safe and worth your time, but I don't control them and can't guarantee their content, availability, or how they handle your data once you click through. Using any third-party site or app is between you and that provider, so please use your own judgement and check their terms before you do.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Everything on this site, text, photos, the guides, logos, and design, belongs to Beara Italia (or is used with permission) and is protected by copyright. Please don't copy, reproduce, or reuse it elsewhere without asking first; a quick email to hello@bearaitalia.com is all it takes.

LIABILITY

I put a lot of care into what I share across the whole site, not just the blog and guides, but everything here is provided "as is". I make every reasonable effort to keep it accurate and current, but I can't guarantee it'll always be error-free or up to date, and I'm not liable for any errors, omissions, or losses that come from using the site or relying on what you find here.

I'm not responsible for the acts, omissions, or service of any third party you book with, airlines, hotels, tour providers, car hire companies, or anyone else, even where you found them through a recommendation, link, or planning session on this site. Any contract for flights, accommodation, activities, or transport is between you and that provider directly.

Nothing in these terms limits my liability where it would be unlawful to do so, for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

FUTURE TRIPS, TOURS AND GROUP TRAVEL

If and when Beara Italia offers organised trips, tours, or group travel, they will never include flights; you'll always book your own flights independently.

You'll book any accommodation directly with the partner hotel we work with, under that hotel's booking terms, not through Beara Italia. I'll point you to those terms before you book.

Trips will otherwise come with their own dedicated terms and conditions, covering things like deposits, payment schedules, cancellation windows, and travel insurance. Those terms will sit alongside this general website policy, not replace it, and will be provided to you before you book.

CONTACT AND COMMUNICATION

It's up to you whether you get in touch, and any personal details you share, by email or through a contact form, are provided at your own risk, though I keep them private and store them securely for as long as I need to, as set out in my Privacy & Cookies Policy. I've done what I can to make any contact form on this site safe, but as with any online form, there's always some inherent risk in sending personal details over the internet.

EMAIL NEWSLETTER

From time to time, I run an email newsletter to keep subscribers up to date with new blog posts, guides, and things I think are useful for planning your own trip to Italy. Signing up is entirely your choice, and you can do so through the website whenever suits you.

I handle subscriptions in line with data privacy and spam laws, including UK GDPR; I keep your details secure and never share them with anyone outside Beara Italia. Campaigns may include some tracking (opens, clicks, timing) so I can make future newsletters more relevant, and you can ask for a copy of what I hold on you at any time, more in my Privacy & Cookies Policy.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every newsletter, or by emailing me at hello@bearaitalia.com if that link is ever unavailable.

SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS

I'm active on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest, and however you choose to engage with me there, a comment, a message, a share, is also governed by that platform's own terms and privacy policy, not just mine. Please use social media thoughtfully and take care with your own privacy and personal details when you do.

I will never ask for personal or sensitive information through social media. If you'd rather discuss something privately, please email me at hello@bearaitalia.com instead.

You might spot social sharing buttons on this site that let you share a post straight to your own social accounts. If you use one, that's entirely your choice, and the platform may track that you've shared the page, in line with its own terms.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

I may update these terms from time to time, for example, as Beara Italia grows or the law changes. The current version will always be on the website, with the last updated date at the top. Please check back occasionally.

PRIVACY

How I collect and use your data is covered in our separate Privacy & Cookies Policy, which forms part of these terms.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
